About
Computational Biochemistry and Bioinformatics
Our lab uses many computational techniques including sequence alignments, homology modeling, molecular docking, and molecular dynamics
We also use python and shell scripting to optimize our research, create our own computational scripts, and create publication-quality images of our data
Our lab uses many different computational tools including the entirety of the Schrodinger Suite
Collaboration
We are a collaborative molecular modeling and bioinformatics lab at Virginia Tech
We work with individuals all over campus and at other universities to provide computational support (in silico techniques, bioinformatics, cheminformatics, etc.) to their research to enhance our impact
UNDERGRADUATE RESEARCH
Two undergraduate research courses available in our lab
Gain experience in different computational techniques and learn the basics of shell scripting
Opportunity to engage with a team of graduate-level researchers
Access to a plethora of high-quality tutorials for different computational tools
Our lab collaborates with Databridge to implement our pedological mission to give students the ability to do interdisciplinary research and collaborate with data scientists
