About

About

Computational Biochemistry and Bioinformatics

  • Our lab uses many computational techniques including sequence alignments, homology modeling, molecular docking, and molecular dynamics

  • We also use python and shell scripting to optimize our research, create our own computational scripts, and create publication-quality images of our data

  • Our lab uses many different computational tools including the entirety of the Schrodinger Suite

Collaboration

  • We are a collaborative molecular modeling and bioinformatics lab at Virginia Tech

  • We work with individuals all over campus and at other universities to provide computational support (in silico techniques, bioinformatics, cheminformatics, etc.)  to their research to enhance our impact

UNDERGRADUATE RESEARCH

  • Two undergraduate research courses available in our lab

  • Gain experience in different computational techniques and learn the basics of shell scripting

  • Opportunity to engage with a team of graduate-level researchers

  • Access to a plethora of high-quality tutorials for different computational tools

  • Our lab collaborates with Databridge to implement our pedological mission to give students the ability to do interdisciplinary research and collaborate with data scientists
